Profile

Karon Sabrina Corrales is a cultural producer and independent curator based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Her practice focuses on a communitarian curatorial practice and a collaborative auto-constructed curatorial approach, utilizing art as a tool for political resistance and mutability. She approaches her work from a position of “non-knowing,” embracing uncertainty as a space for generating community-driven knowledge exploring the notions of communal care and social exchange.

In 2016, she co-founded LL Proyectos, an independent contemporary art initiative in Tegucigalpa, dedicated to fostering critical dialogue and artistic experimentation. She was awarded several grants, among them from Foundation for Arts Initiatives (FfAI) and she has collaborated with different projects in the U.S., Colombia, Berlin and across Central America. Karon was Head of Programs for the Museo del Hombre Hondureño and cultural producer for the Spanish Cultural Center in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Her work has contributed to projects that bridged local and international artistic practices.
