Ghaith Mofeed is a visual and conceptual artist from Syria, currently based in Peru. Ghaith holds a degree in Anthropology and Art & Cultural Heritage, including training in Japanese Archaeology. His practice addresses issues that relate to individual as well as collective identity, sociopolitical navigations, and reconfiguring experience. Text and physical journeying are both part of his work, offering a form of cross-spatial processing that is both literal and metaphysical, beyond geopolitical limitations. Ghaith’s work documents the historical and geographical voyages of his ancestral heritage and the journey that is being experienced today.
