A 25th Anniversary book to commemorate 25 years of supporting the many forms and expressions of culture, designed by Irma Boom.
Put together as a form of celebration and commemoration, the book encapsulates the philosophy and ideas that have fuelled the Fund over the last 25 years.
Such key figures as philosopher Achille Mbembe, art historian Salah Hassan, and art curator Hou Hanru, contribute new essays to share their perspectives and recollections on the early days of the Fund, while architect Salma Samar Damluji of the Daw‘an Architecture Foundation discusses the role of Cultural Emergency Response (CER).
You can also find other essays, interview excerpts, and visual stories by such Prince Claus Laureates as Zanele Muholi, Misha Vallejo Prut, Djamila Ribeiro, and more.
To top it all, the book includes the libretto of the Sahel Opera, which was one of the Fund’s most ambitious projects and a long-time dream of Prince Claus himself.
