Profile

Hashim Nasr is a self-taught photographer based in Sudan. He creates conceptual, experimental artworks using his phone camera, with a special focus on working with flowers, fabrics, and vibrant colors, exploring the narrative of his observations and ideas. Dealing with issues of identity and aging, his art questions self-worth and the unknown future after four ongoing years of political and economic challenges.

Hashim has participated in local art projects, such as “The Voices” by TheHub.Sudan, a digital exhibition aimed at providing psychological support to survivors of the Sudanese revolution in 2019. Hashim’s work has been featured in Analog Forever Magazine and UND Magazine. In 2022, he was awarded a second place prize in the “Imagine” category at the East African Photography Award (EAPA) by FOTEA, and in 2023 he was part of the third edition of the SARD III exhibition at Cairo Photo Week.
