Join our community — amplify the transformative power of culture

From big to small – every donation can make a change.
Our focus themes
For almost 30 years, we have committed to tackling the issues in three key impact areas through the lens of art and creativity.
CLIMATE
Culture can play its part in the fight to avert or limit climate disaster by raising awareness of, and creating insight into, the experiences of people, communities and ecosystems that are suffering the effects of climate change.

FREEDOM
People and communities should be able to act, live and express themselves as they choose, without impeding the freedom of other. Meaningful freedom requires both the absence of constraints but also the capability to exercise agency and actively pursue goals.

EQUITY
We need to rectify the unequal division of resources, opportunities, representation and justice between different communities, including racial, gender, class, caste, nationality, or disability-based inequalities. To achieve fairness we need to recognise the diverse needs of individuals and groups as well as the complex intersections of different categories of oppression.

Building a future together

"I admire the Prince Claus Fund because it creates a healthy environment where artistic expression can flourish. The Fund shows us the importance of artistic exchanges and why it is essential to keep telling stories from all corners of the world, not only now, but especially towards the future."

The CBF (Dutch Charities Regulator) grants a seal of approval to organizations that meet strict quality standards. This recognition signifies that the charity adheres to high standards of accountability and effectiveness. While requirements vary between larger and smaller organizations, about 80 percent of private donations are made to charities under CBF supervision. Donating to a CBF-approved charity ensures that your contributions are used responsibly, the organization is transparent, and it undergoes independent evaluations. Donations are received by our Fundraising Department and assessed according to our ethical donation policy. Each donation undergoes an investigation, including donor background and donation history, with more extensive checks for larger donations.
Donations must align with our mission, values, and legal standards. Legal counsel may be consulted for certain types of gifts. Donations that conflict with our mission, pose reputational risks, or have legal or ethical concerns which jeopardise the independence of the Fund may be rejected. Reasons for refusal are communicated clearly to donors when appropriate.
