Profile
Jacinto Velasco is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Mexico. Through film and the visual arts, he engages with issues that run through his family history, such as forced disappearance. His approach carries a sensibility that emerges from his experiences in rural life, and from the uncertainty of inhabiting nature's magical yet indifferent clockwork in the face of humanity's constant violences and passions.
Velasco is a graduate of the Department of Image and Sound at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG). His work continues to move between film and the visual arts, returning to the family history and to the rural experiences that shape his sensibility.
