Sara Asprilla Palomino is a filmmaker born in Bahía Solano, Colombia. Sara explores themes of cultural identity and queerness within the Afro community of Chocó. She holds a degree in Multimedia Engineering from the University of San Buenaventura Medellín. Her work often delves into everyday life narratives and the intersectionality of cultural heritage and LGBTQ+ identities.

In 2023, Sara participated in FOCO, "the black image in audiovisual", a film production programme by APAN (Brazil) and Manos Visibles (Colombia). She directed the documentary "Degenere" featured at Toronto's 2024 Inside Out and INTERFILM 39 International Short Film Festival Berlin, "Neneco" showcased at FICCI 2023, and "Kanekalon".
