Profile

Roger Sarr is a dancer-choreographer based in Senegal. He draws inspiration from the cultural heritage and deep resilience of Senegal to address social themes such as justice, collective memory, and the questioning of established norms. Through his creations, he aims to give a voice to those who are often silenced, tackling both intimate and universal subjects.

In 2019, Roger launched his first solo "Au-delà d’une apparence" supported by the "Visas pour la création" programme of the French Institute. He also initiated "Souf'fou", a project supported by the Goethe Institute. Meanwhile, he supports the training of young talent in Saint-Louis through Ndar Dance and Sunu Dance Factory. Roger began as a self-taught hip-hop dancer before receiving training from renowned instructors at École des Sables and the Centre de Développement Chorégraphique La Termitière.
