Profile

Aïda Adilbek is a multidisciplinary artist and curator based in Kazakhstan. Aïda holds a bachelor's degree in Art History and Criticism from the Kazakh National Art Academy and a master's degree in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her practice oscillates between performance and video art, and she works around ideas of womanhood through cultural codes, communication, and the intangible simplicity of domestic life. Aïda is a part of the Almaty-based all-female artist collective, MATA, and a research group initiated by Saodat Ismailova, DAVRA, for her project “Chilltan” at documenta fifteen.
