Profile

Sovran Nrecaj is a filmmaker based in Ferizaj, Kosovo. Sovran began his artistic journey as a photographer before transitioning into writing and directing. He honed his skills at Sarajevo Film Academy, where he immersed himself in various film projects.

Known for his poignant storytelling and evocative cinematography, Sovran has garnered international acclaim for works such as the short film "Sea by the River and River by the Sea" and the documentary "Fran and Verka; or a usual day in an abandoned village", both of which have received multiple awards at global film festivals. His recent project, "Illegal Theater", a documentary and exhibition, showcases his exploration of societal themes through a cinematic lens. Currently, Sovran is focused on his debut feature film, "BY THE RIVER, BEYOND THE SEA", continuing to push boundaries in narrative filmmaking.
