Profile
Andrés Madrigal is a filmmaker based in Costa Rica. Andrés is interested in queer narratives, how the intimate and the familiar intersect with the political, and amplifying personal stories through documentary-style work.
He is an alumnus of the 2020 Sundance Documentary Storytelling workshop. Andrés’ short film, “Pray For Us” (2017), was nominated for Best Short Film at the Icaro International Film Festival and was selected for Reeling International Short Film Festival in Chicago. He also co-directed the short documentary, “I Was Born There” (2016), which was selected for the Havana International Film Festival.
