Aniova Prandy is a visual and theatrical artist from the Dominican Republic. With a master’s degree in Art History and Performing Arts, she has also been co-creator of independent theater projects and a teacher in socio-cultural programs in the country. Through her work, which won the 29th Biennial of Visual Arts of Santo Domingo, she investigates issues related to slavery, the body, space, silence, and writing to create anti-colonial narratives. She focuses on the concept of Documentografia as a project in which she explores language and images as means of digital dissemination in social networks to create a counter narrative of the marginalized black body.
