Profile

Bibata is a dancer and choreographer based in Mali. Her artistic practice operates at the intersection of contemporary dance, social engagement, and transmission. As a choreographer, she has created Dernier Souffle, Esprit bavard, Reb'Elle, and Tchiii, works that explore memory, resistance, and the expressive power of the body within complex social realities. Her work is rooted in African contexts while engaging with global contemporary dance discourse.

Since 2019, she has collaborated with Faso Danse Théâtre, performing in major stage productions that have strengthened her artistic rigor and international outlook. She is also the founder of I Dance'O, an inclusive association bringing together street-involved youth, orphaned girls, and emerging artists, using dance as a tool for empowerment, healing, and social cohesion. She lives and works in Bamako.
