Sana Ginwalla is an Indian-Zambian artist and curator based in Zambia. She is drawn to artistic practices that explore heritage, memory, and the family archive. Through this work, she deepens her understanding of identity and belonging, an experience she also seeks to facilitate for others.
Sana is the founder of the "Everyday Lusaka Gallery" and "Zambia Belonging", a counter-archive project inspired by her discovery of photographs in one of Lusaka’s oldest photo studios. "Zambia Belonging" has been exhibited at the 13th African Biennale of Photography, the Lusaka Contemporary Art Centre, and the University of Cambridge. She currently lectures and is pursuing a Master’s in Creative Arts at the Open Window University in Zambia.
