Rafael Manuel is an audio-visual artist from the Philippines currently based in between Manila, London and Amsterdam. Manuel was Valedictorian of MFA Filmmaking at London Film School and has a BA in Communications and Philosophy from Ateneo de Manila University where he graduated with honors. His short film Filipiana (2020) has been screened and awarded internationally. The main focus of Manuel’s work currently revolves around the exploration of specific milieus present in his country as microcosms of a more general and underlying postcolonial reality that is endemic to developing countries around the world.
