Profile
Giga Tsikarishvili is an artist and designer based in Georgia. His practice sits at the intersection of artistic research and critical posthumanist theory. His work explores more-than-human entanglements within damaged landscapes, employing speculative methodologies to challenge the instrumentalisation of nature. Through site-specific interventions, material scavenging, and independent publishing, Giga fosters "informal engagements" with industrial ecologies, particularly in the extraction zones of Georgia.
He is a co-founder of the wit[h]nessing research platform and a lecturer at the School of Visual Arts, Architecture & Design (VA[A]DS) in Tbilisi, where he leads the collaborative laboratory ‘Care, Repair, Assemble’. His practice moves beyond passive observation, bridging the gap between theory and a tactile, corporeal kinship with the environment.
