Profile
Mari Kalabegashvili is a multimedia visual artist based in Georgia. With an interdisciplinary background in cultural affairs, Mari’s works take on an organisational role and create a determination to synchronise with the dynamics of the given environment in its context without distancing from it. Using cross-pollination methods of practice, she builds her work around contradictions as an entry point and poses the question of what happens after “ever after.” Mari’s research-based practice involves a range of media, all of which draw from a collaborative knowledge-sharing process with people from various disciplines.
Apart from her praxis, Mari is currently engaged with the Parallel Class project, an educational organization, creating alternative pedagogical initiatives for high school students throughout the country.
