Fajar Riyanto is a multimedia artist based in , Indonesia. He is interested in exploring recent and contextual phenomena around his everyday life: family, community, kinship, and local subjects, using photography, video, text, and performance as tools to deliver his concerns in an artistic way. Fajar believes that art is an effective tool to unpack and re-question existing norms in society. His experience working with disempowered communities as a facilitator, and living in a marginalised neighbourhood, has enriched his embodied knowledge, mainly to think about power inequalities in this world.
He graduated from the Indonesia Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Photography (BFA).
