Profile

Kuln’Zu is a Mozambican artist based in Kenya. With a multicultural background, Kuln’Zu has cultivated a hybrid practice as an artist, photographer, and film and cultural programmer. Their work spans photography, collage, and poetry, crafting layered meditations on movement and migration, and their relationship with belonging, care, and desire.

Focusing particularly on male bodies as vectors of motion and sites of inquiry, Kuln’Zu embraces fragmentation and repetition, weaving textures, mediums, and techniques to explore the contemporary experience of inhabiting multiple identities. Their practice seeks to contribute to the development of Queer African Studies through aesthetic, scholarly, and cultural interventions.
