Profile
Ebrahim Bahaa-Eldin is a photographer, curator, and anthropologist based in Egypt. He draws on his studies in anthropology to guide his approach to his work, which questions the notions of space, time, and memory, and how they are conceptualised. He is currently concerned with exploring the binary of care and conquest in contexts of urban topography, personal histories, and cultural expressions.
Ebrahim’s practice is entirely analogue and intentionally slow. He photographs and handprints every image himself, allowing the materiality of the process to echo his central questions about time, change, and belonging. He works from Cairo, where his anthropological training continues to shape both his photography and his curatorial work.
