Cristian Păsat is a video artist based in Moldova. Growing up in a post-Soviet country, he is shaped by the legacy of the old regime and the influence of Romanian culture. Having spent much of his life in the countryside, he blends themes drawn from both rural and urban environments, grappling with ideas such as human, hominid, eu. A central concern in his work is the acceptance of difference, non-discrimination, and mutual respect, values that remain urgent and necessary in today’s world.
Cristian is currently editing a film about the LGBTQ+ community in Moldova. He previously created a project on mental health, which helped challenge taboos and sparked positive conversations in society.
