Profile

Rasel Rana, also known as sajan, is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural practitioner based in Bangladesh. Their work explores themes of identity, queerness, and cultural heritage, blending traditional Bangladeshi art forms with contemporary practices such as performance art, collagraphy, and mixed media. Drawing from personal experiences, including living with a vocal cord disorder, they transform challenges into artistic expressions of resilience and inclusivity.

Rasel’s projects, like collagraphy on sarees and reviving ancient wall painting techniques, highlight marginalised narratives while fostering community engagement. Through performances and workshops, they confront societal norms, advocate for equality, and preserve fading traditions. Rasel envisions art as a tool for dialogue, healing, and transformation, grounded in compassion and a dedication to cultural and social justice.
