Profile
Mohamed Adam grew up in the village of Grabbishi. His experience of being forced to relocate to Darfur prompted him to pay attention to the linguistic, musical, and cultural diversity in Sudan. Due to the lack of opportunity for a career in music in Sudan, Mohamed studied engineering at the Ahlia University in Khartoum where he eventually joined the choir. In 2018, he co-founded the Nugara and started researching Sudanese musical traditions. The following year, Mohamed joined the Global Music Academy where he studied music and became Aslaf Band’s lead singer.
