Profile

Osée Elektra, also known as the Soldier, is a slam poet, rapper, and activist based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. His work serves as an act of cultural resistance. As the creator of the Slam Elektrik style, he fuses words and traditional rhythms into a tool for social awakening and critique of Congolese reality, moving beyond aesthetics to act as a guardian of collective memory.

From Goma, Osée works through his organization JUA-ASBL to turn art into political leverage, frontally challenging hate speech and structuring creative industries across the African Great Lakes region. He received the 2022 Kema Awards, and his critical voice resonates across Africa, calling for a collective awakening and the construction of a shared imaginary.
