Profile

Myriam Amroun is a curator and cultural practitioner from Algeria. Myriam was enrolled in medical school until she dropped out to work as a cultural advisor for the Embassy of the Netherlands in Algiers. She is the curator and artistic director of rhizome, a cultural organisation dedicated to the arts and has curated “Culture Under Attack”, a traveling exhibition in collaboration with the Netherlands Embassy in Algiers and Netherlands National Commission for UNESCO. Through her practice, she hopes to reflect critically on the major and critical social phenomena taking place within Algerian society that are transforming the established social dynamics.
