Morteza Soorani is an Iranian visual artist working with photography, videos and installations, currently based between Tehran and Ahvaz in the southwest of Iran. A graduate of Kamalol-Molk art school in Tehran, his practice addresses issues of climate change, water crisis and the relation between human beings and the environment. His inspirations come from observation and empiricism, he says: “The starting point for me is always my memory and my surroundings”.
