Profile

Miranto Rafanomezana is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Madagascar. His work explores society and its evolution within its environment, as well as its intimate relationship with nature and ecology. This exploration is part of an ongoing process of critical reflection, strongly influenced by an anthropological approach to design. He is currently very interested in exploring the various possibilities that technology can offer within his artistic practice.

Miranto is also a cultural activist. For three years, he chaired an artists' association based in Antananarivo called La Teinturerie. In 2023, together with Andrea Graf, he co-created a concept event on Antananarivo's underground culture titled Black Nails. These free events aim to promote Madagascar's alternative scene by highlighting the socially engaged role of culture.
