Magui is a musician and performer based in Senegal. Magui spent her childhood in Yeumbeul and discovered her passion for music during school break-hour freestyle sessions. She later joined a group of rappers and eventually began her solo career. Magui practice prioritizes giving a voice to underrepresented women in male-dominated fields, and her music addresses social issues while incorporating innovative skills and fusing different styles to create something entirely new. In 2021, Magui was appointed as an ambassador for the Dolel Senegal campaign to combat global warming and she was a finalist in Flow Up, the largest rap competition in Senegal. She also won the RAP 221 Woman of the Year 2022 award, which recognizes the best female rapper in Senegal, with her project “Classroom”.
