Camila Perales, also known as Bubu, is an experimental filmmaker, writer, and animator based in Bolivia. Her work explores the materiality and textures of the image, archival appropriation, and new media. She uses literature as a tool for research, drawing on Bolivian literature, women’s writing, and other literary practices as inspiration for her cinematic work.
Camila holds a degree in Literature from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. Her short films and installations have been exhibited in galleries, cinemas, and festivals. Since 2023 she has conducted workshops with Palpar la Imagen, a project focused on sharing experimental practices in animation, film, and archival exploration with communities. She has also collaborated with the festival Ultracinema MX between 2022 and 2025.
