Madina Joldybek is a visual artist based in Kazakhstan. Her practice centres on themes of multidimensional motherhood, identity, and womanhood, often exploring the intersections of labour, nature, food, and the body. Working across textiles, drawing, video, ceramics, publishing, and installation, she seeks to amplify the voices of women from Central Asia.
Her contribution to contemporary art in Kazakhstan was recognised with the inaugural Bubikanova Art Prize in 2024. Madina is also a member of DAVRA, a research group dedicated to cultivating the Central Asian art scene through dynamic exchanges of experience and knowledge. Her work has been presented in exhibitions including the Biennale Matter of Art in Prague, Aspan Gallery in Almaty (2024), Asia NOW at Monnaie de Paris, CHAT in Hong Kong, and DAVRA x documenta fifteen in Kassel.
