Profile
Ivana Mirchevska is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher based in North Macedonia. Ivana's practice spans moving images, sound, text, and sculpture, and is characterized by a research-based approach that critically examines and engages with nature-culture binaries inherent in patriarchal and anthropocentric visual narratives.
Ivana's recent work delves into themes of intercorporeality, agency, and care, employing agential landscapes, vibrant surfaces, and diffraction as conceptual frameworks to create speculative environments and hybrid installations. A prominent figure in North Macedonia's independent and experimental art scene, she co-founded and curated the Underground is Easier to Breathe Festival, a platform dedicated to ephemeral and experimental art practices.
