Issam Larkat is a self-taught photographer based in Algeria. Issam is interested in the documentary aspects of photography, aiming to portray the relationship between places, humans, and their beliefs. He developed his visual language through his love for cinema: a mix of background information and what can be seen and lived daily inside different cities in his country. Issam considers photography to be a medium that can serve as a peaceful tool to fight the injustices of the modern world and to give a voice to the unheard.
Issam is the recipient of scholarships with VII Photo Agency and Screen Arts School as well as a participant in the Nikon-NOOR Academy Masterclass.
