Profile

Hady Barry is a Guinean artist based in Côte d'Ivoire. Hady works with photography and text to explore memory and intimacy. Her practice is introspective and shaped by a desire to hold what most people try to forget.  

Barry has been shortlisted for the Grand Prix Images Vevey 2025/2026, and her debut photobook "i am (not) your mother" received the Juror’s Special Mention at the 2024 Aperture Photobook Awards. In 2022, she was a finalist for the Vantage Point Sharjah Award, a Juror’s Pick for the LensCulture Black and White Photography Awards, and received an Honourable Mention from the Hariban Award. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including with the National Portrait Gallery (UK) and the Sharjah Art Foundation (UAE).
