Fatima Joumaa is a filmmaker and photographer based in Lebanon. Her work explores memory, war, and representation through personal and archival imagery, focusing on the intersections of loss, resilience, and the politics of visual storytelling. Her projects often highlight women's experiences during wartime, weaving intimate narratives that challenge dominant histories and foreground personal archives as sites of resistance.
With a background in audiovisual studies and documentary training, her practice spans experimental documentary, photo-collage, and multi-layered image-making. She is currently developing work that engages with the ongoing war in southern Lebanon, and curating a collective that gathers women to share and create new visual constellations challenging dominant narratives of war and representation.
