Profile
Emmanuel is a multidisciplinary choreographer, performance artist, and researcher based in Nigeria. His work explores the body as both tool and site of inquiry. Working with the metaphor of “hacking,” he imagines the body as a living network and experience as data, vulnerable to glitches yet also open to free creation, presence, and discovery.
His practice is rooted in dance, performance, and installation, and draws on formal training in dance research alongside deep engagement with traditional African rituals and dances. Urban movement vocabularies such as hip-hop, krump, and house dance also feed the work, bringing together formal research with traditional and contemporary movement practices.
