Mariusca La Slameuse is a slam artist, comedian, actress, and trainer of Congolese slam. She is the director of the SLAMOUV festival and one of the standard bearers of slam poets in her country. Committed to and inspired by the strong female figures of Michelle Obama and Kimpa Vita, she is distinguished by incisive texts and borrows from humanism. Her prolificacy earned her numerous performances, both in Congo and abroad. Mariusca’s social commitment led her to set up the SLAMUNITE project, an initiative to introduce slam poetry in a conflictual juvenile environment.
