Abdennasser SLIMANI is a documentary photographer based in Algeria. He is dedicated to telling human and environmental stories in Algeria that are often overlooked. His objective is not only to show, but to raise awareness and advocate through images, giving a voice to those who are not heard. His artistic approach is sensitive, and seeks to evoke both emotion and reflection.
Working in fragile territories and with communities in transition, SLIMANI explores memory, traditions, daily life, and the upheavals of our time. His photographs aim both to bear witness and to call for collective consciousness, documenting the people and the places in Algeria that receive little attention elsewhere.
