Profile
Zara is a Jordanian photographer and filmmaker. Her love for films was born in a theatre in Paris, in which she played the role of Layla Attar, an Iraqi painter living through the horrors of the US-led war. To rehearse for her role, Zara painted trees and women which eventually led to her fascination with figures and their relationship with the Earth. As her idea multiplied, she began to stage and photograph bodies. The reciprocal meditative flow between the subject and herself catalyzes her physical, creative, and self liberation, which in turn became her greatest muse, ultimately manifesting itself in different fictional characters.
