Profile

Willie Xaiwouth is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. They work across painting, installation, photography, digital painting, animation, and performance, and their practice explores memory, identity, ecology, and cultural change. They often draw on traditional materials and on local landscapes, treating them as a way into questions about how culture is carried and altered over time.

Xaiwouth graduated from the National Institute of Fine Arts in 2023, majoring in painting. In the same year they co-founded Lost Jigsaw, an initiative set up to help expand the reach of contemporary art in Laos. Their work has been exhibited in Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and Vietnam.
