Massow Ka, also known as El Junio, is a self-taught visual artist and filmmaker based in Senegal. His work explores memory, transformation, ecological fragility, and cultural transmission through photography and film. Combining field research, immersion, and community dialogue, he builds visual narratives that reveal the social, environmental, and economic forces shaping contemporary territories.
Ka is from Saint-Louis, and his work has been exhibited internationally. His film "Yaram" has received several awards in Africa, Europe, and Canada. He is a laureate of the NOOR Images Visual Storytelling Program (2023) and of RAW Academy Session 11 (2025). He continues to work across photography and film, building projects from field research.
