Profile
Renzo Alva Hurtado, best known as Ozner, is an activist, visual artist and documentary filmmaker focused on developing participatory audiovisual projects in the northern Peruvian Amazon, mainly in communities affected by oil and mining pollution. His work exposes the harmful dichotomy between people and nature in post-extractive scenarios and the challenging work of environmental defenders in the Amazon region. Ozner’s practice is based on video activism and Liberation pedagogy, and aims to build experimental, collective and expository narratives to create active dialogues in the face of those socio-environmental problems. He has a master's degree in Visual Anthropology, and his films have been shown at many festivals in Latin America.
