Profile

Nino Dava is a composer and sound artist based in Georgia. Her practice merges field recordings, noise, electro-acoustic composition, and site-specific sound installations, and her work explores the intersection of sound, research, and noise as a performance practice. In her most recent works, Dava shapes heavy drone noise, synthetic vocals, poetry, and prepared accordion into new forms.

Alongside her performance practice, Dava is a co-founder of Plazm, a platform for experimental music, movement, and performance in Tbilisi. She is an author and contributor at Mutant Radio Tbilisi, where her talk show "City Kidz" focuses on East European indie communities. She also takes part in the educational workshop series run by Public Art Fund Tbilisi, introducing public school students to sound walks, field recording, and composition.
