Profile

Omar Braika is a Palestinian-Jordanian documentary director, fashion designer and photographer. Through his works, he aims to shed light and break stereotypes on minorities, especially queer people, Arabs, and Moslems. Omar has held free multimedia workshops for Syrian refugees in the Zaatari Camp, where he gave refugees the tools to work on their personal projects while creating a community. He co-founded Trashy Clothing, a queer satirical label that reclaims the Arab identity, and Cyber Fashion Week, an all-digital fashion week that connects international artists to collaborate digitally. Through his work, Omar hopes to reclaim his identity and to possess the power of narrating it as it is.
