Profile
Mikaela Moyano is a ceramic artist and researcher based in Argentina. Her practice integrates contemporary sculpture with the recovery of sound technologies and iconography of the Comechingón and Sanavirón peoples. Through hand-building with local clays and wood-firing, she develops a body of work that ranges from sculptural pieces to ritual instruments.
Mikaela works from the Central Sierras of Córdoba. Specialized in whistling vessels, she seeks to reactivate the sacred bond between the body, clay, and territory, transforming matter into a song that preserves collective memory. Her artistic production explores the three-dimensionality of clay as a language of resistance and ancestral heritage.
