Profile

Kofi Maqhawe Dotsey is a South Africa-based multidisciplinary artist. They have trained in visual art, performance (theatre and dance), music and design. Their collaborative work was featured in South Africa Dirty Laundry, an exhibition on the surge of rape in South Africa. A queer multidisciplinary artist whose work is visceral and multi-dimensional, directing its focus on illuminating the experiences of living on society’s margins. Their artworks find connections in spirituality; particularly African spirituality, not only as subject matter but vehicles of transformation. They founded Pyramidkofi, an art house and open space for other queer artists.
