Profile
Keamogetse Mosienyane is a cultural worker, writer, and interdisciplinary curator and researcher based in Botswana. Her work draws on a Black imagination of space and time, and explores place configuration across Southern Africa and the diaspora. From the hair salon, to the domestic home, to the street, her attention falls on the ordinary sites where that configuration takes place.
Mosienyane's methodology is often an assemblage of archives, conversations, text, and art, producing textured narrative writing that moves between various scales and borders. With academic roots at the African Centre for Cities at the University of Cape Town and in Historical Studies at the University of the Western Cape, she brings critical insight and research depth to her contemporary artistic practice.
