David Caicedo is a performance artist based in Colombia. His work explores how colonial narratives were imposed through modernity in Latin America, speculating on ways to dismantle them through the creation of new perceptions of time and mythologies.
In 2022, he presented his performance at Zahav Gallery in Cali. Throughout 2023, he participated in two performance-oriented residencies: the laboratory “Cuerpo, Territorio y Colaboración – Encuentro Internacional e Interdisciplinar de Artes Vivas, Memoria y Espacio Público” organized by Fundación Cultural Waja, and the “¿Qué puede un cuerpo?” residency hosted by the Impromptvs collective at Espacio Odeón. He recently took part in the art and research residencies Uberbauhaus at the Copan Building and Clínica Geral, at Ateliê 397, in São Paulo, Brazil.
