Profile

Arif Furqan is a photographer and researcher currently based in Yogyakarta. His work mostly explores issues of mobility and memory. He is also a part of Flock Project, a collective exploring the possibilities of photographic works through printed matters. In 2021 his project Family of a Nation has been selected to participate in Jakarta’s International Photo Festival 2022 in collaboration with Goethe Institute Indonesia. At the moment he is collaborating with Reza Kuch on an archive-based project titled ‘Unhistoried’. ‘Unhistoried’ reexamines history by focusing on collecting, archiving and researching Indonesian family photographs as a historical artifact from a domestic and personal perspective.
