Bui Bao Tram, also known as Rab, is a multimedia artist based in Viet Nam. Her practice centres on relationships, exploring the essence of materials and their surrounding contexts, drawing inspiration from mythological, folkloric, and absurd elements rooted in Vietnamese and broader Asian traditions. She works by collecting and transforming both collective and personal memories to create intimate pieces that reflect on the tension between private experience and the communal public sphere. Through imaginative writing, Rab engages with archives to uncover new ways of interpreting the data she gathers.
Rab is the co-founder of Bụi Tre Collective, an artist-run group dedicated to supporting emerging experimental artists in Viet Nam.
