Profile

Oumaima Abaraghe is a visual artist based in Morocco. Oumaima graduated from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan. In 2021, she co-founded Tamawqo3 Collective with a group of multidisciplinary artists to present their work in public spaces and engage in non-commercial contexts. Oumaima's artistic practice centers on the material repair of memory through the reworking of colonial archives. Her current research aims to reactivate marginalized stories of famines and ecological crises in Moroccan history, revealing them visually to the public.

Her work and research have been featured in prominent residencies and exhibitions, including the AWAL/ANDAM residency, the Youmein-Festival in Tangier, the Charita-residency in Marrakech, and Vantage Point Sharjah 11 at the Sharjah Art Foundation. Oumaima continues to make significant contributions to the art world by bringing forgotten narratives to light and engaging with historical and ecological themes through her innovative visual art.
